Befrienders for Kids from struggling families
Fun In Action For Children
Fun in Action for Children is a small children's charity in Brighton urgently looking for regular, real people to befriend school aged children from disadvantaged and lone parent families who are struggling. We don't need super heroes, just ordinary folk.
Fun in Action for Children has been successfully supporting children and their families in the city for 19 years and are looking for adult volunteers aged 21+ to befriend school aged children from disadvantaged and lone parent families.
Our befrienders bring with them a wide range of valuable skills and life experiences to help families who are under resourced and under pressure.
We want to hear from mature, trustworthy and reliable adults who can regularly spend 3-4 hours minimum a fortnight with a child over an extended period. We need people who care about children’s well-being and who welcome the opportunity to work with parents and charity staff to improve young lives.
If you think you may be interested and would like to know more please contact us for more information.
To quote one of our befrienders:
"Our time together has become a highlight of my week and something I really look forward to. During these outings I'm completely absorbed. I forget about everything else which is a fantastic stress buster. I experience things I'd long taken for granted through the innocent and frequently hilarious eyes of a small boy. It's a very special relationship of trust and mutual appreciation."
