Do you know how to use Skype? Do you do your shopping online? Did you know that 25% of people with a registered disability are offline compared with 6% of the rest of the UK?

Help bridge the digital skills gap and learn new skills by joining our team today.

We need friendly, confident and patient people with a basic knowledge of IT to support disabled people to access the digital world. You will make a difference by helping clients get set up on free IT equipment, coaching people on how to use the internet and email, building digital confidence, and troubleshooting basic IT issues.


You don’t need to be an IT expert, the most important qualities our volunteers need are patience, an ability to explain things people may be unfamiliar with, and a friendly, assertive personality.


You will gain experience working with disabled people, training people, as well as learning about the developing field of assistive technology. And if you volunteer with us, you have the satisfaction that you have used your IT skills to support a disabled person keep in touch with loved ones, apply for a job and pursue their interests. Ongoing training and support will be provided along with expenses, as it’s important to us that our volunteers are not out of pocket because of volunteering with us.

Practical Considerations

The role is very flexible to fit around your schedule and the needs of our clients. However, we hope that our volunteers will commit to at least 4 hours a month for 3 months.

Travel and lunch expenses, agreed in advance, will be provided.

We are looking for volunteers eighteen years and over.
