Digital production volunteer - video and podcasts
Kennedy St Foundation
Could you help us improve the quality of our online videos and podcasts?
The Kennedy St Foundation supports families and individuals affected by substance use disorder. We were founded as a social enterprise by Kevin Kennedy (Curly from Coronation St) and Clare Kennedy in 2016, to reach more people in the community that want to embark on a journey of recovery and transformation. In 2020 we became a registered charity.
In normal times, we run many projects: Community Connections; Social Entrepreneur workshops; Wellbeing coaching;Film making Academy; Pop-up DryBars; Mentoring; Social media support.
The demand for our support has grown significantly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Overcoming problems with drugs, alcohol, or mental health is hard at the best of times. It’s even harder if you can’t leave the house to access support. Social isolation and loneliness are big factors for people drinking more or turning to drugs at any time. At a time when most of us are feeling more anxious than usual, more people are likely to struggle with mental health, drug or alcohol problems.
To meet the growing demand and adapt to lockdown, we've had to move much of our work on line. And we are regularly broadcasting via webinars, Facebook Live, YouTube and we have plans for a podcast. We've had some a great range of guests so far - celebrities and regular folks. But the technical quality of our production is not great.
We are looking for skilled volunteers that can help us produce great quality videos and podcasts. You don't need to be an expert in all elements. And you don't have to make a long term commitment.
Perhaps you're furloughed from work and want to do something useful with your time? Maybe you've got the skills or the qualifications but you need more experience for your CV? Perhaps you just want to do something positive for your community during this pandemic? Or maybe your a team or group of friends who have all the necessary skills between you?
Whatever your situation, if you have the skills, we'd love to hear from you.
