The Funding Officer develops our funding bids for monies needed by Green Tides and approved by the Committee. This is an interesting and dynamic role and obviously depends on the needs of Green Tides.
Example of past successful bids include £10K from Awards for All for a range of training for Green Tides’ members such as ‘Train the trainer’, Community Green Flag Award, power tool training and specialised ecological/environmental training. It also covered insurance cover for some groups in need of this, a new website and the rebranding of Green Tides.
We have also been successful with smaller bids of approx. £1K for our AGMs enabling us to be able to hold them as ‘celebration’ events to appreciate the achievements of all our members over the past year and also to welcome any new members.
Ideally would suit someone with some experience of doing funding bids, which may have been gained from work or volunteering.
The ideal person would have a strong interest in both greenspaces and communities and a real desire to contribute to building stronger links and connections between our 40 or so vibrant community groups and Adur & Worthing councils, local businesses and other relevant organisations.
Full training and support can be given to someone who is enthusiastic and committed!
A great opportunity to really be linked in with local communities and the amazing diversity of voluntary activity that takes place across the whole of Adur and Worthing.
It's a real opportunity to learn, grow and to develop opportunities locally that really make a difference to Adur and Worthing's greenspaces and the volunteers who help to enhance and look after them.
The community groups we support are a great fun and positive bunch of people to be involved with and Green Tides' meetings are positive, inspiring and uplifting!
When do I need to be available?
|Details||Green Tides meetings are bi-monthly and are held on Tuesday evenings, 7 to 9pm so the successful person would need to be able to be available for these times. The venue alternates between a Worthing venue (often the Gordon room near the Town Hall) and an Adur venue (usually the Shoreham Centre).|
