As fundraising coordinator you would be a part of the SSAFA Sussex branch executive working to develop a coordinated fundraising plan. You would be central to delivering this local plan across all of our Sussex divisional offices to raise funds through a range of local sources including grants, trusts, appeals, collections and events.

SSAFA branches rely on a regular charitable income to fund all the necessities behind our support for clients. This includes volunteer travel expenses, phone bills, publicity, and grants for clients with urgent needs. A varied programme of coordinated fundraising also keeps the SSAFA profile high in the local community.

All of SSAFA Sussex 's volunteers work from home but there is a requirement to attend a small number of meetings and events.

Skills

You don't need a military background, just the ability to get on with all sorts of people, come basic IT skills are required along with good written and spoken English. If you already have some fundraising experience that would be great but not essential.

Benefits

  • Use your skills, knowledge and life experience to benefit others.
  • Give tangible and practical support to your local SSAFA branch by raising funds used directly to support veterans and their families.
  • Support and friendship from your local SSAFA branch and the wider SSAFA community.

Practical Considerations

This role would suit you if you are looking to give a regular time commitment to SSAFA although when and where would be flexible to suit you.

Although working from home there is a requirement to attend a small number of meetings and events so access to a car or public transport needs to be considered.
