BHCC - Royal Pavilion, Museums and Libraries
The Royal Pavilion & Museums are currently looking for volunteers to join the Garden Greeter team for the Royal Pavilion estate for the summer season April - September 2020.
Garden Greeters is a well established scheme delivered within the Royal Pavilion gardens set up by estate partners The Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton Dome, The Pavilion Gardens Café and the Chapel Royal. The Greeters provide a welcome onto the estate for visitors.
As a volunteer working for the Garden Greeters scheme:
- You will ideally be confident to approach people.
- Have an ability to learn quickly and keep information up to date.
- Be prepared to work in what will be a busy environment.
- Be reliable, on time and flexible.
- You will be working as part of a friendly team
- You will receive free tours and talks as part of induction and on-going support
- You will receive free entry to the Royal Pavilion & Museum sites for the duration of your volunteering with us.
This opportunity is based outside in the Royal Pavilion Gardens on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, and will also include bank holidays. We would expect a commitment of at least one shift per week, which would be either 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm.
The shift involves a mixture of walking around the gardens talking to visitors answering questions about the history and what's on, and standing/sitting at an information table.
The scheme runs through the busy season, and the weather can vary from day to day! Notifications are sent via text message to Greeters before shifts to inform of any cancellations.
