Role Purpose:

To support our Outreach Team in their roles.

Main duties: 

The Homelessness Outreach Supporter will support our Outreach Team in providing support and building rapport with rough sleepers and those who may be vulnerably housed in and around the specified area (e.g. Horsham, Mid-Sussex).

This position offers training and experience to the volunteer in working with those who may be street homeless and how we can support them to access services that may be able to support and provide an accommodation offer.

Our Outreach Team are highly experienced workers who are trained to work with clients with severe and enduring complex needs. You will shadow and support the Outreach Team and never be expected to lone work as part of this role.


Skills

Please note this role will require two character references. This role may also require a DBS check.

Professional boundary and confidentiality training will be covered during the induction meeting.

Practical Considerations

Will probably need own transport.  May need a DBS check.

We are looking for individuals who can commit to a few hours up to one or two days per week, and would be willing to work flexible hours based on the needs of those who are rough sleeping. This may be starting at 8am or working later in the day to support the Outreach Team to go out and support those who may be rough sleeping. 

When do I need to be available?

Details Time: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm – One or two days commitment or a few hours per day We are looking for individuals who can commit to a few hours up to one or two days per week, and would be willing to work flexible hours based on the needs of those who are rough sleeping.
