Leader/Coordinator of Club
The leader takes overall responsibility for the running of the club. They devise the weekly programme and welcome new members. They explain how the club operates and introduce new members to the rest of the club.
They appoint volunteers to specific roles within the club.
The leader will have experience of working with older, vulnerable people. They will be skilled in listening to members' concerns, should they arise, and know when to suggest making contact with other groups or services.
They will be empathetic, inclusive and non judgemental. They will respect the privacy of members personal details.
They will have a good telephone manner when speaking to members and when booking speakers, entertainers etc.
They will be physically fit to participate in the club's outings which usually involve walking, driving, assisting member's, making sure that members are safe and well, dealing with any medical issues that arise. A background in having taken first aid training or being willing to undertake training would be an advantage.
A Disclosure and Barring certificate is essential or willingness to obtain one prior to taking up the position.

3. The experience of developing relationships with members, volunteers, speakers and entertainers.
Friday Club meets in Kings Drive, Shoreham Beach. We are based in the hall of the Good Shepherd Church.
The Hall may be reached by the number 700 bus, stopping at the Saltings Roundabout. It is then a short walk onto the Beach and to the Church Hall.
There is ample parking in the grounds of the hall, when arriving by car.

Expenses are paid from the club's bank account for food bought, birthday presents, raffle prizes. Mileage for club business is paid, e.g. using a car for outside events.

Public Liability insurance is in place.
