Management Committee Member
Black and Minority Ethnic Young People's Project (BMEYPP)
The Black and Minority Ethnic Young People's Project is set up to be led by young people for young people and its Management Committee is made up of BME young people aged under 26. Being on the committee is a fun way to learn what happens behind the scenes of the BMEYPP and take part in making decisions about how we run. Committee members take part in recuiting staff, managing finances and resources, receive reports form staff, and give and receive feedback from other members. If you are over 18 you may take on roles such as Chair person, secretary or treasurer.
Management Committee members must lead by example by being reliable and punctual, be pro-active and responsible and be respectful, open and honest. You will need to be able to commit a minimum of one year to the opportunity.
The Management Committee is supported by the Project Development Manager, and a team of trustees who will mentor you in your roles. Induction and training is provided and there are also opportunities to attend training at the British Youth Council. The BMEYPP also holds an annual residential training weekend for Committee members.
