We're looking for drivers who may be able to take partially sighted or blind people to medical appointments in and around Worthing area.
It may just be the occasional request, but we do run a busy service, so appointments needs are increasing.
Use of the charity car is possible.
Skills
Full driving licence.
DBS check (we will organise and fund this).
Benefits
- Helping your local community without having to commit regular amounts of time.
- This is a great way to try out the world of volunteering on individual ad hoc jobs, to see if it's for you!
Practical Considerations
You will need to help guide people who will have little or no vision, therefore some physical contact is likely (arm holding for example).
You will need to stay with the individual for the duration of their appointment and transport them home. As with any appointment, it's difficult to gauge how long the waiting period will be.
When do I need to be available?
