In this role you will be supporting a fabulous woman who lives in the Lancing/Sompting area, visiting her 6 times a year. She lives in a lovely home with a number of other house mates who also have learning disabilities.

This lady is Absolutely Fabulous and loves glamour. Having her nails painted is a MUST. The colours pink and red are especially popular. She loves going out to do a bit of shopping but also enjoys checking out the TV listing magazines and catching up on all her favorite soaps, especially Emmerdale. She is a big big fan of anything ABBA and the film Mama Mia.

She would like a fun loving and outgoing visitor like you to share some of her favorite activities with.

As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will be:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Friendly, patient and reliable
  • Fun-loving and outgoing
  • A fan of TV soaps and ABBA is an advantage but certainly not a must
  • If you have a car so you can go out for a light lunch, that would also be great, but not a must.

  • Making a difference to the life of a person with a learning disability
  • Learning new skills and about people with learning disabilities whilst having fun
  • Agreed expenses paid and training provided.
