Outdoor Gardening Volunteers
Transition Town Worthing CIC
Transition Town Worthing has three gardening projects in Worthing - one in the town centre, one in Broadwater and one in Tarring. All operate regular gardening sessions during the growing season.
Suitable for families, and people of any age and ability.
Tasks may include weeding, planting, litter picking, normal garden maintenance, and seasonal activities.
Willingness to learn as we garden using permaculture principles.
1. Being part of a community of growers.
2. Fresh air and exercise.
3. Learning new skills.
At the Haven some of the ground is uneven and sloping and, although we have had wheelchair users and two of the beds are designed for wheelchair use, it therefore presents limitations for some people.
Parking restrictions operate nearby but there is on street parking.
Nearest toilets are at the hospital or Morrisons.
At the Triangle, there is on street parking nearby. The Triangle is a much smaller site, so less disabled friendly due to restrictions with space and no beds at wheelchair height. No available toilets at the Triangle but the sessions tend to only operate for a couple of hours.
