2-4 pm most Fridays we run a popular drop-in parent and toddler group at the church over two halls, providing toys and refreshments for £1 per family (to help cover costs)

We could use some help with getting the toys out (bending and carrying involved) and clearing them away again afterwards, in the kitchen making tea and drinks, and generally being there for the families who come along.

Skills

For setting up (1-1.30 pm) and clearing away (4-4.30) we need someone reasonably fit to drag some mats and a herd of wheeled toys around.

For the group itself, someone who will be part of the team, listen, chat, and be supportive if needed.

Benefits

  • opportunity to mix with a friendly gang
  • experience of volunteering in a community group
  • confidence-builder

Practical Considerations

Volunteering for this group will mean having a DBS check.

Setting up and take down require a certain amount of bending, carrying and dragging (floor mats)

Our kitchen and lower hall aren't wheelchair accessible, however our upper hall and large lobby are accessible.

Buses: 49, 2
