Park Centre on Preston Road - cafe volunteer
Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals
We are looking for a volunteer to regularly cover the Friday morning shift at the Friends Cafe on the third floor of the Park Centre for Breast Care on Preston Road.
The café offers hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks to patients, staff and service users in the Park Centre. We provide all training, but our volunteers do need to be recruited through BSUH because this is a hospital building. The cafe can be quiet and our volunteers thrive best if they like a calmer atmosphere and enjoy time to catch up on some reading. We have a lovely team of volunteers and their caring and welcoming attitude is especially appreciated by those patients whose treatment takes some time.
No experience is needed and all training is provided.
The cafe operates within an NHS service. Our volunteers need to be supportive to customers when appropriate and to respect patient confidentiality at all times.
Our volunteers enjoy feeling part of a team and know that the service they provide is very much appreciated by patients and staff.
We have regular volunteer meetings so that our volunteers can get to know each other.
There is no on site parking but there is a nearby bus stop on Preston Road.
When do I need to be available?
