On Friday 19th August, Hove Lawns. Our walkers will be walking 10k to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK – but they need you to help them achieve their challenge!

Having the amazing support and endless enthusiasm of some friendly faces truly makes Shine an unforgettable experience. Join the Shine Volunteer Team and help us to beat cancer.

As a course volunteer you’ll be instrumental in helping every walker; whether to point them in the right direction, safely navigate a crossing, or just being there when they need to hear a cheer and see a smiling face. All you need is bags of enthusiasm and great communication skills to encourage walkers to keep going!


Skills

You will need to have a positive and proactive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in taking on one of our many roles and embracing the event as it unfolds. If you simply want to be involved and are happy to help where it’s needed most, then sign up now and we’ll find the perfect role for you.

Practical Considerations

The start location is on the Hove Lawns, the lawn closest to the King Alfred Leisure Centre and next to the Bowls Club lawns. Please use what three words location ///reach.bliss.over to find the event site. You will need to arrive by 6:30pm.

Car - The nearest car parks to the venue will have limited availability. All charges vary and normal charges apply.

The nearest car parks are King Alfred Car Park (Hove Street South, BN3 2WW) & Norton Road Car Park (BN3 3BE). 

NCP Car Park Brighton Centre (Russell Road BN1 2DX), Regency Square Car Park (Regency Square BN1 2FG ) & Churchill Square Car Park 2 (Cannon Place BN1 2FB) - these car parks are around 15 minutes walk to the venue.

There are a number of pay and display car parks in Brighton city centre. The city centre is around 30 minutes walking distance from the venue so please allow enough time for the walk to the venue before your start time.

Bus - Buses run frequently across Hove & Brighton. Visit www.buses.co.uk/plan-your-journey(link is external) to plan your journey and remember to allow enough time to walk to the event site before the start of your event. The city centre bus station is approximately 25-30 minutes walk to Hove Lawns.

Train - The nearest train station is Brighton Train Station, which is approximately a 25-30 minute walk to Hove Lawns.

Details Approx. 18:30pm - 11:30pm on Friday 19th August 2022. If you cannot make the entire evening that's absolutely fine! Please let us know when you arrive on the day and we will allocate you accordingly.
