Main purpose of the role: To promote, develop and maintain our online presence in order to maximise our impact and to promote ourselves as widely as possible.

Beneficiaries of the role: Disabled children, young people and families using Different Planet Arts projects.

Range of tasks to be carried out:

  • To attend meetings as required to carry out the role
  • Help create and maintain a social media plan
  • Develop and manage content for our social media, such as Twitter, Facebook & Instagram
  • Select relevant channels to reach our diverse audiences
  • Keep up to date with DPA events and news, and use social media to promote our activities and achievements
  • Encouraging others to comment on and share our posts
  • Test content and review it's impact
  • Track the effectiveness of our social media work and recommend ways forward
  • Visit our projects and attend our events to ensure a clear understanding of our work

Skills

  • An excellent understanding of social media platforms
  • Ability to communicate effectively, be articulate, with strong writing skills and the ability to feedback accurately
  • Ability to transform small snippets of information into interesting and engaging stories suitable for Twitter, Facebook etc.
  • Reliability – able to attend meetings on time and commit to the work load
  • Good organisational skills – to be able to organise and plan content
  • To be approachable, open and flexible
  • Good understanding of confidentiality
  • The ability to work equally well in a team and unsupervised
  • To be willing to attend relevant training sessions and meetings where possible
  • To be willing to meet with supervisor for supervision on a regular basis
