We run lively, weekly, daytime cabaret and afternoon clubs for socially isolated older people. Each event is styled on The Ritz in the 1950s with volunteers in black tie, vintage crockery, and glitzy decor. Guests receive an afternoon tea with champagne and watch high quality cabaret acts! The cost for guests is kept low so it is affordable for all (£5 includes everything), the venue is fully accessible and carers are welcome. Each weekly event can accommodate up to 240 guests.

Volunteers are welcome to come and help out just once, occasionally, or make it a regular thing. We have volunteers of all ages and backgrounds and everyone has become good friends, arranging regular social meet ups!

The events run on Thursdays in April, June, August, October & December. Volunteers usually attend between 8.30am and 4pm but there is flexibility within this if you need to do a shorter day to fit around childcare etc. The event itself runs 12noon to 3pm

We have many different roles on the day to suit everyone, typically the role involves: setting up the venue, welcoming guests, serving tea and coffee, the infamous cake dance, helping in the kitchen, chatting to guests, dancing with guests, tidying up at the end of the event. We have roles available to accommodate people with disabilities.

Travel expenses are paid, and you will be looked after with sandwiches, cakes and champagne! You’ll also get to see some of the best cabaret acts around, think Elvis, Hula Hoopers, Flapper Girls, Opera Singers, Tap Dancers and Tina Turner!

Volunteering at The Posh Club is an experience not to be missed, come and give it a try!
