With your help we want to develop a charity that is unique in its approach to education. By helping us network with schools and local authorities, we hope you can bridge the attainment gap that develops so early in childrens lives.

Our goal is to convert a double decker bus into a mobile classroom and visit disadvantaged children referred to us by schools deemed in need.

We are two teachers who believe everyone should be able to access tutoring and this pandemic has shown how unequal children's education is.

We are looking for another trustee to join the board and help guide us on our journey to become a registered charity, which would allow us to access vital funding for the initial purchasing of a double decker bus.

Our charity purpose is 'For the public benefit, the advancement of education is given to disadvantaged children in areas of deprivation through communication and collaboration with local schools to close the attainment gap, consequently, enabling children to progress and access better life chances.'

If you have any experience in setting up charities, being a treasurer or anything related to charities we would be very interested in hearing from you.

Skills

Ideally, you will have experience in primary education, whether from being a governor or being an employee within a school. However, this is not mandatory and we are more interested in anybody with charity experience, especially those who have helped setup a charity in the past.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who live or work in Brighton and Hove.

Benefits

Volunteering as a trustee for a new unique charity like ours will develop a diverse skillset.
