We seek a woman who has the time and energy to commit to Safe in Sussex and the confidence, skills and experience to act in a senior governance role. Experience of management at a leadership level will be an advantage, as will the ability to work as part of a team. The Board has the benefit of an Honorary Treasurer who works with the Finance Officer (paid). However it would be extremely helpful if the Deputy-Chair has some experience of financial management in an oversight role. We aim to operate a supportive environment where fellow Trustees and members of staff are encouraged to develop their skills to their fullest extent and this role will play an important part in achieving that aim.

An understanding of the charity and voluntary sector will be an advantage and knowledge of the governance of charities is essential. We are also looking for someone who has understanding of, and empathy with the aims and objectives of Safe in Sussex. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate her potential to assume the role of co-chair in due course if this is desired.
