Brighton YMCA is seeking volunteer trustees to join our experienced board.
The board's role is to oversee the organisation's governance, compliance and planning to enable Brighton YMCA to develop in line with our strategy.
Brighton YMCA is a Registered Social Landlord and a Registered Charity which houses, and wherever possible, resettles homeless men and women of all ages. We aim to provide a caring and supportive environment and to work in accordance with the best practices of equal opportunities.
Brighton YMCA employs over 100 staff and provides accommodation and support for over 300 clients.
As a member of the Board you are required to attend six board meetings a year, and any additional sub-committee meetings as required. Ideally you will chair the Finance sub-committee.
If successful, you will be appointed for an initial term of three years, starting in November 2021, with the possibility of serving for two further terms.
The deadline for applications is Monday 27th April 2021
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who have the following skills:
- Fundraising, individual giving or philanthropy.
You should have a genuine interest in housing and a commitment to the needs of the local community.
We encourage applications from all backgrounds including women, black and minority ethnic candidates, younger people and people with disabilities, as these groups are currently under-represented on our board.
It is a great opportunity to gain board experience, and to make a significant difference to vulnerable people in your local community.
