This position is not suitable for anyone under 18 years of age.

A trustee is someone who is responsible for helping to run a charity. Our charity is registered with the Charity Commission and we routinely report to them on all our activities. Trustees work as a group to make sure the charity is run properly, and are responsible for making decisions about what the charity will do. Being a trustee is a voluntary activity, and our trustees do not get paid for what they do.

What does being a trustee involve? Trustees have a duty of care. This means being responsible, giving enough time to do things properly, using your skills and experience to help the charity, and keeping up to date with laws and rules about charities.

We are recruiting for this role despite the COVID-19 emergency because it's important for our future. We would really like to hear from you if you're interested, even if it may not be practical for us to meet in person for some time. Please phone John Barry, Chair of the Committee, on 01273 729315 or email

  • Using your life experience and skills to support our charity’s work
  • Developing new skills
  • Knowing that you can make a difference to the lives of isolated older people by working with our team.
