Local Community Shop Volunteer
St Vincent DePaul Society (Brighton and Hove)
St Vincents Charity Shop – Lewes Road – New volunteers needed
During the lockdown, everyone’s had time to de-junk and clear out their cluttered cupboards and the under beds! We need volunteers to come and help us turn unwanted items into opportunities for the most vulnerable in our communities. Come and support our efforts in reducing poverty by joining us as a volunteer in our shop. You could be serving our loyal and supportive customers or helping to process donations and creating eye-catching displays.
Give us a call on 01273 698517 to find out more.
New volunteers get trained on activities on tasks that suit their interests and skills, such as sorting donations, pricing items, creating displays or serving customers. Support is provided by an established and friendly team of people and Ursula who manages the shop.
Our Mission is to seek and find those in need, to help them in a spirit of justice and to tackle the causes of poverty where we can
We help people living in poverty. We believe the concept of need is broader than financial hardship, so visiting people who are sick, lonely, in prison, or suffering from addiction forms a significant proportion of our work.
You need to be a good communicator who is helpful to people and give great service with a smile. There is work in both the front of the shop, such as serving customers, and back of the shop, processing donations.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends and give something back to your community. It’s also a great opportunity for people who are furloughed to get back into a working environment/routine.
The shop on the main Lewes Road and near a busy bus stop.
