Could you help us support and communicate with our growing team of volunteers? Maybe you are looking for experience in working with volunteers ? The role is an exciting opportunity to do just that.

Livestock is a charity that works within the community, running arts groups, events and performances to support, educate and entertain.

The main project is Mothers Uncovered which is a creative support network for (mostly new) mothers. It is to provide a support service to mothers through workshops and arts projects. We give women the chance to talk openly and honestly about their feelings and experiences, without fear of judgement. It is also to give women the chance to celebrate and mark this point in their lives.

The charity also presents SoulFood - community food workshops. SoulFood runs events in schools, food banks and community centres to get participants excited about food and feeling confident in sharing food skills and ideas.

Lastly, our thespians present events and m/others uncorked which is immersive, improvised shows dealing with social issues.

We also have a group of wonderful volunteers who share our passion across the three different strands of our work. We are now looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to help us support the volunteers already involved and recruit new ones as we need them.  There is a range of tasks which may be required over the coming months and we will discuss with you how these could be implemented. For example:

  • Creating a new volunteer strategy for Livestock
  • Working with us to help shape the volunteer programme to offer more to our volunteers
  • Supporting the recruitment of volunteers - this could be developing role descriptions, advertising what we need or organising the recruitment process, as required.
  • Keeping up to date with good practice and legal requirements in relation to volunteering (through the information, training and networking offered by Community Works).

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the way we involve volunteers and would be great experience for someone who is looking to progress their career in the charity sector or in gaining general experience working with volunteers.
