We are looking for a Volunteer Driver's Mate to help our Area Van Drivers collect donations and deliver furniture within the local area. The money raised through the sale of stock donated to the Salvation Army supports the projects run by our community programme which is based at the Worthing Corps' Welcome In community centre in Crescent Road, Worthing.

Summary of tasks:

- Loading and unloading the Salvation Army van
- Helping the Area Van Drivers to collect donated stock
- Delivering sold furniture

Skills

Skills / experience needed:

- An interest in, and empathy with, the aims and objectives of the Salvation Army
- Good customer service skills
- A good general level of fitness and the strength to assist with the transportation of heavy items of furniture
- No driving is involved

Practical Considerations

This role is suitable for volunteers aged 18 +

The time commitment is flexible and can be agreed with the Charity Retail Manager, although the current need is for a volunteer to work on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
