Volunteer Social Media Specialist
YMCA DownsLink Group
YMCA Right Here is looking for a Volunteer Social Media Specialist aged 26+ to join the team!
YMCA Right Here is an Award-winning, youth-led health and wellbeing project for young people aged 11-25. The project runs campaigns, studies, an online directory, works in schools and colleges as well as creating informative social media content for our young followers.
We are looking for a social media expert to offer 3 hours per week to support a small group of young people via a weekly 1 hour zoom meeting, to create content for Instagram and Facebook.
You will be responsible for hosting a weekly 1 hour meeting with a small number of young volunteers aged 16-25, discussing themes and topics of interest based around health and wellbeing, and steering the young people towards social media planning and content creation, which you may be able to support them with.
You will need to be an adult over the age of 26, with demonstrable knowledge of social media, Instagram and Facebook specifically. An interest and understanding of health and wellbeing is essential as well as an interest in youth work and youth involvement. Training will be offered to the volunteer around this aspect of the role.
Volunteering for YMCA DLG is a great way to gain experience, learn new skills and make some new friends. Volunteers play an integral role in delivering our projects across Sussex and Surrey in a variety of ways.
This is a new volunteering role and there is flexibility in the way that we run and manage our social media, however, we will need to adhere to the policies and procedures of YMCA DLG throughout.
In order to reduce the levels of change young people will experience, we are hoping for this volunteer to be able to reasonably offer a year volunteering in this role.
When do I need to be available?
