The Coracle is a new residential project that aims to provide a permanent home and supportive community for people with a history of homelessness. We are looking for motivated volunteers to join our team in Hove.
As a member of the team, working alongside staff and other volunteers, you will support residents with daily living tasks, support the development of life skills and assist with the delivery of creative activities.
Personal qualities and life experiences are more important to us than professional qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
A non-judgemental attitude
The ability to multitask
The ability to work as part of a team
Excellent verbal communication
A desire to help others
Experience of working with vulnerable adults and / or people with substance dependency
Experience of homemaking
Experience of working in catering
Experience of teaching adults with specific learning difficulties
Experience of teaching any subject, at any level
A specialist skill or talent such as playing an instrument, drawing or painting
A Food Hygiene / Food Handling Certificate
A First Aid certificate
A full, clean UK driving licence
Work experience in a dynamic work environment
Support with career development

We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to working shifts. We are happy to consider all applications for any number of hours, including live-in applicants.
You may be required to travel with residents to appointments or accompany them on shopping trips for necessities. All expenses will be covered.
You may be required to attend training days and house meetings.
When do I need to be available?
|Details||We are happy to consider applications for any amount of days or hours that volunteers are able to offer. However, a degree of flexibility and commitment to at least one shift (6 -8 hours) would be ideal.|
