Blatchington Court Trust (BCT), established in 1995, is an independent, impartial, charity working to promote and support the needs of blind and partially sighted people under the age of 30 who live in Sussex. Our services include educational support where we work with clients to remove barriers to learning at school/college, employment support, provision of assistive technology for home use, counselling and life coaching services, leisure development and outreach development services.

Our volunteers have the opportunity to choose one area or more that they would like assist us in. These areas are as follows: The Charity Allotment, Events, Service Providers, Over-18 socials, Keep fit volunteer, Mini-bus drivers and Online content creator. The great part about the different areas in which you can help us are that there is something for all ages and certain roles can cater to any accessibility requirements.

Skills

We would like our volunteers to be friendly, reliable and work well in a team. Some volunteer roles require certain skills but head to our website to discover which one's you may feel suit your abilities and interests.

Benefits

  •  Opportunity to attend fun events such as theatre trips, water sports, paint balling, the football etc.
  •  All training provided and expenses paid
  •  Various areas to assist with such as the allotment or creative workshops.

Practical Considerations

Our trust and allotment are based in Hove and are easy to get to. If we travel somewhere we often use a mini van or the help of staff with vehicles. Therefore owning a vehicle would be fantastic but definitely not a necessity.
