Warehouse Assistant Volunteers
St Barnabas Hospices
St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House provide specialist palliative care both within the hospices and in the comfort of patients homes, treating adults and children with advanced progressive life-limiting illnesses.
Our retail distribution centre is in need of volunteers who can help sort through stock which has been generously donated to us.
Volunteers can either do just one shift of a morning or afternoon, or several shifts if you wish.
The warehouse is located at Unit A, Trading Estate, Northbrook Road, Worthing, BN14 8PN.

Our Warehouse is not open to the public and we are limiting the amount of people who are in at any one time. All donations are placed in quarantine before being sorted and we will provide hand sanitiser and masks.
A willingness to learn (Some of these skills you will already have and some may require training, which we will provide for you)
Ability to use a hand press appliance
Willing to uphold warehouse standards through various cleaning tasks
Willing to carry out repetitive tasks
Ability to operate all shop equipment and appliances such as computerised till
Willingness to carry out instructions from staff
Reliable and good time-keeping
Physically able to carry out allocated tasks
Ability to be non-judgmental and accept people as individuals and respect their differences
Ability to empathise with the people that you come into contact with
Ability to work on your own and as part of our team
An insight into palliative care
- Gain retail experience, and learn new skills.

When do I need to be available?
